The story behind Australia's most trusted gaming review and esports platform.
IronZone was founded in Melbourne in 2019 by a group of dedicated Australian gamers who were frustrated by the lack of locally focused, honest game coverage. Too many reviews were written from a North American or European perspective, ignoring the unique gaming culture, community, and esports scene that had been growing rapidly across Australia.
We set out to change that. Today, IronZone is home to a team of professional reviewers, esports journalists, and tournament organisers who live and breathe gaming — and who understand what Australian players actually want to know before they invest their time in a new title.
Our editorial policy is simple: every review is written after completing the game, every score is justified with detailed criteria, and no publisher relationship ever influences our ratings.
Our reviews are never influenced by publishers, advertisers, or sponsors. Every score reflects genuine gameplay experience and critical analysis.
We review games with Australian server performance, local pricing context, and the Australian gaming community in mind — because local context matters.
IronZone exists to serve the Australian gaming community. We actively support local esports events, emerging developers, and grassroots tournaments.
We never rush a review. Our team completes every game before scoring, ensuring our assessments reflect the full experience — not just the first few hours.
Every overall score is broken down into clear sub-categories — gameplay, visuals, story, audio — so you always know exactly why a game received its rating.
We don't just cover tournaments — we help organise them. IronZone is an active partner in growing competitive gaming across every Australian state and territory.
